State Administration Council Information Team Leader Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun Makes Explanations to Respond to Propaganda from Western Media Agencies and Updates Situation in the Northeastern Part of Myanmar

The State Administration Council (SAC) Information Team Leader Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun provided explanations of extensive propaganda by the Western media based on the research papers of the USIP (United States Institute of Peace) organization, which is backed by the US government; the ongoing armed conflicts in up to 27 November; and alarm campaigns taking advantage of the situation in the northeastern region of the country as follows –

  • Western media is making extensive propaganda based on research papers of the USIP (United States Institute of Peace) organization, which is backed by the US government to deteriorate the ongoing conflicts in Myanmar.
  • They are openly interfering in Myanmar’s affairs to escalate the armed conflicts with presumptions that armed organizations and individuals creating the conflicts are united under the same objective without becoming bandit-like groups.
  • However, the presumptions are found contrary to reality as there is certain incoherence inside the armed groups. The so-called NUG/CRPH terrorist group even announced their objection to some armed groups.
  • Their presumptions are to pour oil on the flames because they ignore the cycle of narcotic drug dealing and holding arms of MNDAA insurgents, and it shows the clear interferences of Western countries and their partners in the current conflicts in Myanmar.
  • There were engagements at (105) mile border trade post in Muse, Konekyan, Monesee and See Kaw areas in the northern part of Shan State. Moreover, clashes at a prison and State cultural building in Kayah State, and Tron Ai and Nonebu security outposts in Rakhine State. Terrorists attacked the targets by using drones to drop bombs and firing improvised rockets.

Subversive media outlets are making instigations by reading the USIP’s report, and therefore, entire Myanmar people and neighbouring countries should pay serious heed to such instigations, the Major-General said.
