Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing Attends and Watches Final Match of 60th Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) Football Tournament

The final match of the 60th Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) Football Tournament took place at Zeyathiri Tatmadaw Sports Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw on 24 November. The Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye and wife, invited guests and sports enthusiasts watched the match.

In the final match, the football teams representing the Camp Commandant’s Office of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and Eastern Command showed off their skills in competing with each other to score the leading goal. Finally, the Camp Commandant’s Office team deservedly won over the Eastern Command team 6-5.

Then, the prize awarding ceremony was held. First, the SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented a championship trophy, a duplicate trophy and a cash award to the Camp Commandant’s Office which stood first in the A-class football tournament, and the Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye presented the a championship trophy of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, a duplicate trophy and a cash award to the Southern Command which won the first place in B class football tournament. Later, the Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command Maj-Gen Saw Than Hlaing, Military Appointment-General Lt-Gen Lin Aung, Adjutant-General Lt-Gen Soe Min Oo and officials also presented prizes to the respective winning teams and the players who won the best player award in the football matches.

The 60th Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) Football Tournament was categorized as two-class events such as A and B classes. A total of 16 football teams competed in the A-class football tournament and eight teams in the B-class tournament, totalling 24 teams. The first round of group stage matches took place in zones based on military commands. The knockout stage and final matches were held at Zeyathiri Tatmadaw Sports Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw starting 6 November 2023. Today, the final match and the prize awarding ceremony were successfully concluded.
