Aids, Relief Materials, Supplies Transported to Victims of Cyclonic Storm MOCHA in Rakhine State

Military aircraft/helicopters and naval vessels are being used to deliver aids, relief materials and supplies to locals in Sittwe township of Rakhine state affected by the Cyclone Mocha.

From 28 June to 4 July, 64 people including artists and sportsmen to personally donate the funds received from the MOCHA fundraiser and the four-way soccer tournament, and a total weight of 22.415 tonnes including relief supply donated by Indonesia and the ASEAN Coordinating Center for Humanitarian Assistance on disaster management (AHA Centre) and basic goods and basic commodities donated by well-wishers were delivered by Tatmadaw aircraft.

On 28 June, two 29-metre landing crafts from Tatmadaw (Navy) transported a total weight of 200 tonnes including 13,613 timbers in various sizes to Sittwe.

Military aircraft/helicopters are being used to deliver aids, relief materials and supplies to locals affected by the Cyclone Mocha in a timely manner. From 15 May to 4 July, a total weight of 561.3 tonnes of relief materials and 3,542 people including military personnel and departmental staff who were to participate in rehabilitation activities, were conveyed by military aircraft. Concerned authorities received relief supplies transported by military aircrafts/helicopters and naval vessels, and they have been making arrangements to transport the supplies to storm-hit towns and villages, it is reported.
