On 2 July, Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing attended a coordination meeting with members of the Committee on Supervising Ground Census Enumeration (Kachin State) at the meeting hall of the State Government Office in Myitkyina and delivered the speech as follows:
- For Kachin state, in the field enumeration till 26 June 2023, more than 260,000 households have been collected based on e-ID software data while more than 70,000 households have been collected without the existing household lists, totally more than 330,000 household lists have been collected, meeting 79.21 percent of the target.
- According to the collected statistics, as there are people who have not yet received the household lists and national identification cards, it is necessary to verify them by five-member committee and issue them some kind of card that should be held in accordance with the law through the Pan Khin project.
- It is necessary to pay special emphasis on completion of the issuance of the household lists and national identification cards with the Kachin State Pan Khin Project Phase (2) within the specified period.
- A trial enumeration at various regions and states will be carried out starting from 1st October 2023 to get the accurate data of population and household list on nationwide scale for 2024.
- Implementation of the e-ID system, the collection of biographic and biometric data of individuals is also being carried out in regions and states.
The Chief Minister and members of the Committee on Supervising Ground Census Enumeration reported the progress of field enumeration, entering information in the e-ID server, effort for the work completion within the specified period, plans to be implemented and requirements with Pan Khin Project Phase (2).
Member of the Committee on Supervising Ground Census Enumeration (Kachin State), Chairman of the Committee on Supervising Ground Census Enumeration (Kachin State), state Chief Minister U Khat Htain Nan and members of the Committee on Supervising Ground Census Enumeration attended the meeting while district/township-level committees joined the meeting via videoconferencing, it is reported.
