The Chairman of the Union Election Commission (UEC) U Thein Soe and party met the chairpersons and members of the Pa-O National Organization (PNO), Inn National League Party and Danu National Democracy Party at the meeting hall of the Shan State government office on 30 June, and inspected the party’s work procedures in accordance with the Political Parties Registration Law and Rules. During the meetings, the UEC Chairman highlighted the following points:
- The registered political parties need to follow the Political Parties Registration Law and Rules released by the UEC.
- It is necessary to gather the numbers of party member as per the stipulation within 90 days.
- After the proper opening of township party offices, it needs to conduct systematic set up and duty assignment to members.
- It is necessary to change national ID cards (three fold card) being held by the party members with citizenship scrutiny cards at the Department of Immigration and Population.
- It is necessary to make preparations after opening party offices to be ready for the inspection tours of UEC, General Administration Department, Ministry of Planning and Finance and office of the auditors department. Then, the chairpersons and members of the relevant poltical parties explained the parties’ activities.
The PNO headquarters based in Taunggyi Township is located at No 18 of West Circular Road in Zaypaing Ward in Taunggyi and allowed to register as political party as per Section 9 of Political Parties Registration Law with notification No 15/2023 of UEC, while the Inn National League Party headquarters located in Yongyi street, near Taiknan bridge of Kantha Ward of Nyaungshwe with notification No 20/2023 and Danu National Democracy Party at No 10/64 in Cherry street of No 10 ward of Kalaw with notification No 26/2023.
