Deputy Ministers Receive Philippines Delegation Led Acting Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs, Department of Foreign Affairs

U Kyaw Myo Htut, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Deputy Minister for Immigration and Population U Htay Hlaing received the Philippines delegation headed by Mr Eduardo Jose A De Vega, Acting Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs, Department of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Philippines at the their respective Ministries in Nay Pyi Taw on 30 June.

  • During the meeting with Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, they cordially exchanged views on enhancing the existing friendly bilateral relations and promoting cooperation between the two countries in the all arenas, as well as the matters pertaining to combatting cybercrime in regional and cooperating to fight against human trafficking, and strengthening closer collaboration in regional and multilateral contexts, and other matters of mutual interests.
  • During the meeting with Deputy Minister for Immigration and Population, both sides cordially exchanged of views on the state of cooperation between Myanmar and the Philippines in immigration measures, visa approval for the two countries, the status of extending the visa allowance of Philippine citizens in Myanmar, the status of the ministry’s cooperation in preventing and combating transnational crimes and human trafficking and mutual assistance between the two countries for victims of human trafficking.

Also present at the respective meetings were senior officials from relevant ministrial departments and Philippino Charge D'affaires Mr. Enrique Voltaire Pingol and officials along with the Philippines Undersecretary, it is reported.
