Union Ministers Receive Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Myanmar

Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw received H.E. Dr. Nikolay Listopadov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Myanmar, who is leaving Myanmar upon completion of his tour of duty in Myanmar, at the respective ministries on 30 June.

• During the meeting with Union Minister for Foreign Affairs, both sides cordially exchanged views on the matters pertaining to the further consolidation of longstanding friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation between Myanmar and Russia in the future. The Union Minister also commended the Ambassador for his remarkable contribution to the advancement of Myanmar-Russia bilateral relations and cooperation during his tenure.
• During the meeting with Union Minister for Science and Technology, they friendly discussed long-term strengthening of friendship between two countries, implementation of human resource development, increasing cooperation and launching of nuclear technology for socio-economic development with peaceful purposes, bilateral cooperation of universities, cooperation for the development of science and technology sector between Myanmar and Russia.

Also present at the meetings together with the Union Ministers were permanent-secretaries, directors-general and officials, it is reported.
