Building of Maravijaya Buddha Image Taken 1,111 Days Long and Efforts Made for Full Percent Completion

Under the guidance of the leading donor Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, the Maravijaya Buddha Image in Dekkhinathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, is relentlessly being built by the members of Myanmar Engineering Society and Military Engineers Corps round the clock. It has been three years and 16 days long (1,111 days) on 30 June 2023 since the jewelled stake was driven for the construction of the Buddha Image on 14 June 2020.

“Maravijaya” Buddha Image, which would be the largest marble Buddha statue throughout the world, has been carved with the four aims of showing the flourishment of Theravada Buddha Sasana to the world, shaping Myanmar as a focal point of Theravada Buddhism, ensuring the prosperity of the State, and ensuring peace and prosperity of the world. Along with the Buddha Image, religious edifices are being built in the Buddha Park in accordance with the instructions of State Ovadacariya Sayadaws.

The sights of the Buddha Image and religious edifices in the Buddha Park seen today have been published in order that all the Sanghas and people across the country will pay respects and be generous. Efforts are also being made continuously to ensure 100 percent completion in construction of the Buddha Image.
