Military aircraft/helicopters and naval vessels are being used to deliver aids, relief materials and supplies to locals in Sittwe township of Rakhine state affected by the Cyclone Mocha. From 14 to 20 June, a total weight of 30.8 tonnes including basic foodstuffs, medical supplies and construction materials were delivered by military aircraft.
From 14 to 20 June, three 29-metre landing crafts from Tatmadaw (Navy) transported timbers in various sizes and pieces of small logs, and the supply vessel transported basic foodstuffs and medical supplies, weighing 222 tonnes.
Military aircraft/helicopters are being used to deliver aids, relief materials and supplies to locals affected by the Cyclone Mocha in a timely manner. From 15 May to 20 June, a total weight of 534.5 tonnes of relief materials and 3,380 people including military personnel and departmental staff who were to participate in rehabilitation activities, were conveyed by military aircraft. Concerned authorities received relief supplies transported by military aircrafts/helicopters and naval vessels, and they have been making arrangements to transport the supplies to storm-hit towns and villages, it is reported.
