The departmental officials from relevant Ministries as well as relief and rescue task forces organized and sent in advance by the Tatmadaw have been actively carrying out the rescue and rehabilitation activities in the areas where losses and damages occurred in the aftermath of cyclonic storm (MOCHA). In this regard:
- On 12 June, Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung and party inspected completion of repair works of Urit Mingala suspension bridge, universities, Basic Education Schools damaged during the storm, loading up with relief and rehabilitation supplies onto the vessels which would leave Sittwe for Myauk-U, Myebon, Minbya, Rathedaung, Buthidaung and Maungdaw townships. They also provided backpacks and biryani rice boxes to students.
- On 12 June, Lt-Gen Aye Win in Buthidaung and Brig-Gen Aung Kyaw Moe in Sittwe provided zinc roofing sheets, relief supplies and foodstuffs to village representatives, storm victims and monasteries.
- On 12 June, Lt-Gen Phone Myat from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and officials inspected necessary healthcare services being given to the people from storm-hit villages in Sittwe Township and provided biryani rice boxes to them.
- On 12 June, the relief and rescue teams, currently in Sittwe, Mrauk-U Kyaukpyu and Kyaukaw provided necessary healthcare services to victims, cleared fallen trees and branches at the monasteries and beside the roads and repaired damaged street light poles.
Union Ministers, relevant Region/State Chief Ministers, commanders of regional military commands and responsible departmental officials encouraged the said rehabilitation activities collectively conducted by military personnel, members of Myanmar Police Force and Myanmar Fire Brigade, staff from respective ministries and civil societies, and also attended to their needs, it is reported.
