Aids, Relief Materials, Supplies Transported to Victims of Cyclonic Storm MOCHA in Rakhine State

Military aircraft/helicopters and naval vessels are daily delivering aids, relief materials and supplies to locals in Sittwe township of Rakhine state affected by the Cyclone Mocha as follows:

• On 29 May, a total weight of 672 tonnes including basic commodities, foodstuffs, bags of cement and construction materials, and two business vehicles were delivered by Pyitawaye II, the supply vessel of the Tatmadaw (Navy).
• On 29 May, a total weight of 128 tonnes including rolls of tarpaulin, commodities, different types of timber and construction materials, and foodstuffs were delivered by four 29-metre landing crafts from the Tatmadaw (Navy).
• On 30 May, sacks of rice weighing 50 tonnes were delivered by a 29-metre landing craft from the Tatmadaw (Navy). Lumbers weighing 10.07 tonnes were delivered by a 56-metre landing craft from the Tatmadaw (Navy).
• On 30 May, relief items, foodstuffs, clothes, utensils and equipment weighing 2,511 tonnes were delivered by Thuriya Sandar Win Company-owned MV Charities vessel.
• On 30 May, electrical goods, water purifiers, clothes and consumer goods donated by Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, and Air) family members, ministries, departmental officials and well-wishers were delivered by military aircraft for the first time. Similarly, members of the Tatmadaw and the Myanmar Police Force, rescue teams, departmental officials, medical supplies, communication equipment, rehabilitation items and foodstuffs were also transported by military aircraft  for two times.

Concerned authorities received relief supplies transported by military aircrafts/helicopters and naval vessels, and they have been making arrangements to transport the supplies to storm-hit towns and villages, it is reported.
