The Government, Tatmadaw and state and region governments have been providing cash assistance, relief supplies, medicines and foodstuffs to the storm victims facing loss and damage due to the cyclonic storm “Mocha” as follows:
- On 24 May, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister Admiral Tin Aung San presented relied aid and foodstuffs for the storm victims in Pauktaw Township, and donated rice, offerings and corrugated iron sheets to the Presiding Sayadaw of Ba Wang Monastery of Pauktaw.
- On the same day, Lt-Gen Min Naing also provided rice, cooking oil, salt, chickpea, eggs, instant noodles and corrugated iron sheets to the 82 storm-affected households in Hakha Town of Chin State.
- On the same day also, Brig-Gen Kyaw Kyaw Soe comforted the patients at the public hospital of Myaebon Township and provided eggs and noodles to them.
- On 25 May, Brig-Gen Kyaw Kyaw Oo who is arriving in Manaung Township, accompanied by officials, presented the fund allotted in advance by the state government and corrugated iron sheets donated by well-wishers in order to repair the schools in Khaohnmaw village-tract destroyed by the storm.
- From 25 to 26 May, Lt-Gen Phone Myat from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and party cordially met with the military family members from local battalions in Paletwa Township of Chin State, and the military personnel and families, and students from Rathedaung, Ponnagyun, Kansauk and Kyauktaw stations. They provided foodstuffs and school aid to them, and cordially greeted them.
- On 28 May, the officials from Myanmar Red Cross Society provided food, water, personal hygiene products, shelters and kitchen utensils to the storm victims in Myitna and Nyoyaungchaung Villages of Sittwe Township in Rakhine State.
Afterwards, the storm victims spoke word of thanks for such contributions while the relevant officials warmly encouraged them and attended to the needs, it is reported.
