The 10th Meeting on Cooperation to Combat Trafficking in Persons between the Myanmar Police Force and Royal Thai Police was held at Park Royal Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on 25 May. The meeting was attended by MPF Deputy Chief of Police Police Maj-Gen Aung Aung and representatives and RTP Deputy Police Chief Police General Surachate Hakparn and representatives.
Both sides discussed and exchanged views on human trafficking preventive measures and changing patterns of human trafficking, processes of foreigners illegally coming to work in Myanmar’s border towns, suspects of human trafficking in Thailand, arrest and hand over the absconding defendants who have been prosecuted under the Foreign Employment Law and joint prevention and protection of illegal entry and exit along the Myanmar-Thailand border, it is reported.
