To conduct relief, rescue and rehabilitation activities, well-wishers have been contributing to cash assistance for victims in townships affected by Cyclone Mocha that had developed in the Bay of Bengal. In this regard, on 24 May -
- Families of officers and other ranks under the command of Eastern Command, and generous donors donated K91,053,000 for the cyclone victims and the donation cash was received by the deputy Commander of the Command Brig. Gen. Win Zaw Moe and honour of certificates were also returned.
- Well-wishers from Pauktaw township of Rakhine state donated K225.6 million in total including aid materials and the donated items and cash were received by the Admiral Tin Aung San, Lt. Gen. Tun Tun Naung and region Chief Minister Htein Lin.
Together with the donation of well-wishers, Tatmadaw personnel and departmental officials from respective Ministries have been making arrangements to convey relief supplies to storm victims in various storm-hit towns and villages of regions/states including Rakhine State, it is reported.
