The Government, Tatmadaw and state and region governments provided cash assistance, relief supplies, medicines and foodstuffs to the storm victims facing losses and damages due to the cyclonic storm “Mocha” as follows:
- On 18 May, Chin State Chief Minister and Lt-Gen Tayza Kyaw from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), Commander of Northwest Command and officials provided foodstuffs, relief and rehabilitation equipment to storm-hit victims.
- On the same day, Lt-Gen Phone Myat from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), Western Command Commander, Police Chief of Myanmar Police Force and officials provided foodstuffs and personal goods to police force members from local police sub-stations in Rathedaung and Ponnagyun stations, and Maungtaw Township of Rakhine State. They also provided foodstuffs and personal goods to villagers of Donpaik Village of Rathedaung Township of Rakhine State.
- On 18 May, Southwestern Command Commander and officials donated corrugated iron sheets to the damaged schools and monasteries due to a cyclonic storm “Mocha”.
On behalf of the disaster victims, a person spoke words of thank for those supplies to them, and the relevant officials warmly encouraged to them and attended to the needs.
