List of Damages Caused by Cyclone Mocha up to 17 May

In the aftermath of Cyclone Mocha that entered Myanmar, 183,024 public houses, 1,711 religious buildings, 59 monasteries, 1,397 schools, 227 hospitals/clinics, 11 communication towers, 119 lampposts, five transformers, one market, two airports and 340 departmental buildings were destroyed in 44 wards/villages of Nay Pyi Taw Council area, 24 wards/villages of Chin state, 23 wards/villages of Sagaing region, 72 wards/villages of Bago region, 34 wards/villages of Magway region, one ward/village of Mandalay region, four wards/villages of Mon state, 686 wards/villages of Rakhine state, 65 wards/villages of Yangon region, one ward/village of Shan state and 114 wards/villages of Ayeyarady region, totaling 1,068 wards/villages, were damaged as of 18 May. There are 145 deaths in total: including 54 including security personnel carrying out rescue activities 91 from IDP camps in Rakhine state.

In regions and state, readily-organized search and rescue teams joining hands together with philanthropic civil organizations are conducting rescue activities in the cyclone-affected areas, it is reported.
