Union Minister Receives WFP Country Director and Resident Representative in Myanmar

Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe received Mr. Stephen Anderson, Country Director and Resident Representative of the World Food Programme (WFP) in Myanmar, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw on 17 May.

During the meeting, the updates of the signing of the new LoU regarding the Country Strategic Programme (2023) as well as the WFP operations in Myanmar and the cooperation between Myanmar and WFP and matters related to providing necessary humanitarian assistance in the context of disaster and urged them to closely cooperate with the Myanmar government in rehabilitation measures for those affected by the cyclonic Mocha were discussed, it is reported.
