At the invitation of Minister for Agriculture and Rural Affairs Mr.Tang Renjian of the People’s Republic of China, the delegation led by Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung left Yangon for China to attend the opening ceremony ASEAN-China Cooperation in Agriculture and Food Security Year on 24 April.
The Union Minister and party met the officials led by Chinese Vice-Minister for Agriculture and Rural Affairs Mr. Ma Youxiang and they discussed the matters related to the cooperation on the development of agriculture sector between two countries on 25 April.
Then, the Union Minister and party attended the opening ceremony ASEAN-China Cooperation in Agriculture and Food Security Year held at Kempinski Hotel Beijing Yansha Centre in Beijing. At the ceremony, representatives from ASEAN member countries, who attended the opening ceremony of ASEAN-China Cooperation in Agriculture and Food Security Year, greeted each other and sand art pictures of prominent symbols of ASEAN member countries were drawn. According to the ceremony agenda, the youths from ASEAN member countries and the People’s Republic of China then recited a poem and the representatives announced that the opening ceremony of ASEAN-China Cooperation in Agriculture and Food Security Year was officially opened.
