Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win met delegations led by Regional Director for Asia Pacific Mr. Alexander James Matheou of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), IFRC Head of Delegation Ms. Nadia Christine Khoury and President Dr. Myo Nyunt of Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) at the ministry on 24 April.
They openly discussed matters related to provisions of humanitarian aid in Myanmar in collaboration with the IFRC and MRCS, provisions of aid without discrimination to the people and households affected by natural disasters, work for giving humanitarian aid in conflict areas as per the principles of humanitarian aid without jeopardizing the country’s interests, assistance from IFRC for improving the capacity of the MRCS and further cooperation between them.
