Officials reached the disaster-affected areas where houses were destroyed resulting civilian casualties due to tornado and the heavy wind, carried out necessary relief activities and provided relief items to the victims as follows -
- A tornado that tore through Ta-daU and Aungmyingon villages in Lewe Township of Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory on 21 April evening destroyed houses, religious buildings, and schools, and killing and injuring people. 109 victims were provided necessary relief items including foods and materials for building their houses.
- Similarly, heavy winds on 22 April destroyed houses from nine wards and 94 villages of Salin township and also houses from seven wards and 20 villages, two departmental offices, nine electric poles, two staff-housings, religious buildings and schools in Natmauk township of Magway region.
- Likewise, heavy wind also inflicted considerable damage to houses in the villages of Taungpyone, Sukar, Audaung, Thapyaytha, Paukwae, Thayattapin of Madaya township and Pauktapin village of Thabeikkyin village and officials went to the disaster-hit areas, carried out necessary relief activities and provided relief items including construction materials to the victims.
Local military personnel, Myanmar Police Force members, Fire Brigade members and departmental officials went to the disaster-affected areas and carried out relief activities and took necessary measures such as cleaning-up the collapsed schools, houses and buildings, repairing fallen lamp-posts, carrying out clean-up activities around the toppled pagodas, clearing and chopping down the fallen trees, and relief activities reportedly continue by opening temporary relief-camps in the disaster-affected areas.
Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Tin Oo Lwin together with Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Thet Thet Khine and departmental officials went to the Tada-U village where it was affected by the tornado and heavy wind, comforted the victims with the words of encouragement, and provided them cash assistance and necessary medications and heath-support items. It is reported that officials will collect the data of pregnant women, the elders over 70s, children under five and people with disabilities who fall in vulnerable group from the storm-affected villages of Tada-U and Aungmyingone of Lawe township, and the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement will additionally provide them K30,000 per person.
