Passing out Parade of Thura Company’s 126th Intake of Officer Training Course of Tatmadaw (Army) Officer Training School (Bahtoo) and Graduation Dinner Held

The passing out parade of Thura Company’s 126th Intake of Tatmadaw (Army) Officer Training School-OTS (Bahtoo) took place at the parade ground of the Tatmadaw (Army) OTS (Bahtoo) in Fort Bahtoo on 7 April, with an address by the State Administration Council Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Thiri Pyanchi Maha Thray Sithu Soe Win, on behalf of SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing.

The ceremony was also attended by the wife of the State Administration Council Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Daw Than Than New, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Thiri Pyanchi Tithu Maung Maung Aye and wife, Shan State Chief Minister Zaya Kyawhtin Sithu U Aung Zaw Aye and wife, senior military officials and wives, guardians of the cadets who are the instructors, teachers and invited guests.

At the ceremony, the Vice-Senior General took salute of the cadet companies and inspected them. The Vice-Senior General then presented the silver sword award to the best cadet award winner cadet Maung Maung Myint Myat.

Speaking on the occasion on behalf of SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing, the Vice Senior General stressed the following points –

  • The young leaders are required to serve dutifully the tasks assigned by the State and the Tatmadaw at their respective units after keeping in mind the basic military tactics, knowleges of command and control, leadership, as well as the subjects of general, adjutant, quartermaster.
  • Regarding the leadership, it is worth to note the saying of Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing at the graduation ceremony of the 64th Intake of the Defence Services Academy, ‘As the subject of leadership is deeply wide, the more study on it, the more benefits will have. Being a good follower is the start of being a good leader’.
  • As the Tatmadaw is the important institution for the sector of the national defence, it is required to behave like a good Tatmadaw personnel by nurturing the morale of following disciplines, obedience, mutual respect among levels, and esprit de corps.
  • Well-disciplined and good obedience are the key factors why our Tatmadaw stands as a strong institution to date.
  • The Tatmadaw is an institution to follow civil and military laws as well as war laws including Geneva Convention. Training on legal affairs is being given to all levels of Tatmadaw members. Action is taken against offenders in a transparent manner.
  • Moreover, officers and other ranks need to understand and follow the Rules Of Engagement-ROE.
  • Organizational activities inside and outside of the military units should be emphasized so as to implement the People’s War strategy under the leadership of the Tatmadaw.
  • At present, destructionists from local and abroad, subversive organizations and media outlets are attempting to disunite and weaken the Tatmadaw using various means. Therefore, the officers charging duties as young leaders need to strictly follow the military disciplines, obey the orders and instructions, as well as to lead the followers to ensure they do so.
  • The leaders of the Ethnic Armed Groups-EAOs have been invited to hold talk with the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services in person since 22 April 2022. To date, dialogues are made with the participation of representatives from 10 EAOs resulting constructive outcomes.
  • The terms in the NCA intend and emphasize the peace, stability and development of the Union and all ethnic people in the future.
  • All Tatmadaw members are to take continuous training after studying the changing military tactics and technologies based on the skills and knowledges studied so as to dutifully carry out the three main duties of the Tatmadaw and to ensure physically and mentally fit.

After the parade, the State Administration Council Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Thiri Pyanchi Maha Thray Sithu Soe Win met outstand- ing cadets and spoke words of honour.

In the evening, the graduation dinner of the Thura Company’s 126th Intake of Officer Training Course of  Tatmadaw (Army) Officer Training School (Bahtoo) was held at the Military Appointment General Office Hall of the OTS this evening, attended by Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Com-mander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win on behalf of the Chair-man of SAC Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and had the dinner together with the graduation officers.
