Union Ministers Receive Indian Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Vinay Kumar

        Union Minister for Transport and Communications Admiral Tin Aung San, Union Minister of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko, Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi, Union Minister for Energy U Myo Myint Oo and Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant received Ambassador Mr. Vinay Kumar of India to Myanmar on 3 March at the respective ministries in Nay Pyi Taw. At the meetings,

  • Union Minister for Transport and Communications frankly discussed with Indian Ambassador about the multi-model transit transport project through the Kaladan River in cooperation between Myanmar and India, ensuring the safe passage of vessels along the Kaladan River, marine surveying and dredging, flight expansion and future cooperation.
  • Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko frankly discussed with Indian Ambassador about matters related to religious and cultural sectors, close cooperation for strengthening mutual interests between two countries and cooperation in the archaeological field.
  • Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation frankly discussed with Indian Ambassador about conservation of forests for environment, priority over conservation of forest under the national-level agenda on reduction of climate change for the sake of reduction of carbon emissions, implementation of agreements on the conservation of tigers and other wild animals and cooperation on mineral sector.
  • Union Minister for Energy frankly discussed with Indian Ambassador about the present cooperation between Myanmar and India in the oil and natural gas sector and knowledge sharing of energy technology.
  • Union Minister for Construction frankly discussed with Indian Ambassador about work programmes to be carried out for upgrade of the Paletwa-Zorumpur road with aid from India for the development of transport between the two countries and plans to build the construction of an integrated check post at the Tamu border.
