Families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) paid respect to the retired senior military officers who attended the 78th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day parade ceremony which was held on 27 March, at the parlour of Zeyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw on 27 March.
The event was attended by 19 retired military officers and seven wives. The Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla attended the ceremony together with the SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) and their wives, and they paid respect to those retired senior military officers and wives.
On the occasion, the SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing expressed his delightedness of paying respects by saying ‘we are the successors to the State duties in successive era in line with fine tradition of Tatmadaw and those retired senior military officers in presence are our mentors as well as parents. Therefore, the ceremonies to pay respect to them have been held annually. Likewise, paying respect with the remembrance of mutual respect in line with Buddhist tradition is a good culture of our Tatmadaw. Afterwards, on behalf of the families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), the SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and wife, and senior military officers and their wives paid respect to the retired senior military officers in line with Myanmar traditional customs.
Later, the SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and wife, the SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) and wife, and senior military officers presented gifts in person to the retired military officers respectfully. They then posed for a documentary photo together with the retired military officers and wives, it is reported.
