Statements Issued Regarding Brutal Attacks of KKO (Splinter) Group, So-called PDF Terrorists on Myawady Trade Zone with Heavy Weapons and Small Arms

          Regarding the incident in which KKO (Splinter) group, and so-called PDF terrorists under NUG/CRPH launched attack on the Myawady trade zone using with heavy weapons and small arms in Kayin State, organizations and associations issued statements saying that such acts of violence were unacceptable and strongly condemn them as follows on 26 March –

• Young Men's Buddhist Association-YMBA (Central) strongly condemns this act, which is not only disrupting the development of Kayin State, but also an act aimed at destroying the socio-economic life of the local people who depend on the trade zone.
• Myanmar Interfaith Dialogue Group (Central) stated that terrorists brutally shot and killed security personnel, civil servants and civilians, inhumanely burned and demolished and destroyed the local people's job opportunities and socio-economic life and these acts were strongly condemned.
• Myanmar Press Council stated that it is clear that the terrorist's irrational act that is not related to the military is intended to destroy local peace and stability, to delay the flow of goods and to cause a crisis for the people. Thus, the Council strongly condemns any terrorist organization that has committed such terrorist acts.
• Myanmar Writers’ Association, Myanmar Music Association (Central), and Myanmar Comedians’ Association announced that the intentional terrorist attacks by these terrorist groups to areas unrelated to the military are a war crime and are strongly condemned.
