Tatmadaw Sea-going Mobile Hospital Vessel (Thanlwin) Return to Yangon after Providing Healthcare Services to Locals Cocokyun township of Yangon

     The Tatmadaw Mobile Medical Team onboard the Tatmadaw Sea-going Mobile Hospital Vessel (Thanlwin) including specialists, doctors and nurses from Tatmadaw and Ministry of Health provided healthcare services to local people in villages and townships of Rakhine Coastal Region, Cocokyun township of Yangon region from 1 to 22 March. They arrived back to No. (4) Naval Jetty at Port Thilawa on 24 March.

         They provided healthcare services to local people in surrounding villages of Gwa, Thandwe, Yanbye, Manaung, Kyaukpyu, Sanae, Myebon and Pauktaw township in Rakhine Coastal Region and Cocokyun township of Yangon region. A total of 1,5827 patients including 4,816 patients who need medical treatments, 818 patients who need surgical operations, 609 patients with obstetric/gynecologic diseases, 780 patients with pediatric diseases, 2,884 orthopedic diseases, 1,179 patients with ENT related diseases, 3,509 patients with eye diseases and 1,232 patients with dental and oral diseases were given medical treatment. The medics conducted operations on 142 patients who need to perform eye surgery and 100 patients who need to perform general surgery onboard. Moreover, diagnoses and treatments were also provided to 65 patients who need to take X-ray scans, 1,158 ultrasound scanning patients, 388 patients who need to receive laboratory tests and 1,107 cardiologic patients undergoing ECG procedures and one pregnant woman was able to give birth baby successfully onboard.

       The Tatmadaw Sea-going Mobile Hospital Vessel (Thanlwin) with the Tatmadaw Mobile Medical Team onboard have been providing healthcare services to local people in coastal areas since 2016. It is reported that a total of 141,994 patients of local residents were given medical treatment and 18 pregnant women were able to deliver babies successfully onboard.
