Vice-Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win Meets MSME Businesspersons in Danu Self-Administered Zone of Shan State (South)

        The Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win met the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) businesspersons, departmental officials and local ethnic people at the town hall of Pindaya Township in Danu Self-Administered Zone of Shan State (South) on 18 March.

       During the meeting, the officials and attendees reported on MSMEs in operation and requirements respectively. Then, the Vice-Chairman of the SAC Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win coordinated measures on reports of
businesspersons and attended to the needs. The deputy ministers also explained about the relevant sectors.

    Afterwards, the SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) delivered a speech as follows:

  • The most important fact of the MSMEs have to use domestic materials to produce value-added products. It needs techniques, capital, inputs and human resources.
  • In the previous government, the government and private organizations had disbursed more than K6 billion to 2,822 persons in the Danu Self-Administered Zone depending on the regional condition.
  • In the time of our government, with the permission of the Prime Minister, K5 billion from the State Economic Promotion Fund have been disbursed to the local entrepreneurs as capital loans.
  • It is reported that the Danu Self-Administered Zone can cultivate sufficient rice but it needs to produce quality rice. Depending on quality, rice can fetch double or triple prices in local and foreign markets.
  • As the zone can produce sufficient meat for it, the industry can contribute a lot to regional development if frozen meat can be produced.
  • Pindaya is a famous place for the tourism industry of Myanmar and can attract domestic and foreign tourists.
  • It is necessary to enhance the manufacturing of local products traditionally in order to promote the tourism industry which is referred to as smokeless factories and generates local and foreign revenues.
  • As the Danu region is attractive to foreign tourists, it is necessary to register traditional products for systematic production.
  • Not only the government but local people and relevant departments need to strive for the development of the Danu Self-Administered Zone.

      Then, the SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and party viewed round the displays of local products, foodstuffs, consumer goods, industrial products, and traditional handcrafts. Later, the Vice-Senior General and party proceed to the Shwe Oo Min Natural Cave pagoda in Pindaya and paid obeisance to Buddha images in the cave, it is reported.
