Cash Assistance and Household Items Provided to Temporary IDPs in Paletwa Township of Chin State

      The family members sheltering in the temporary IDP camps in Paletwa township of Chin state will return to their original residences with their own consents. The ceremony of providing cash assistance and household commodities to temporary IDPs in order to facilitate and ease their current living conditions were held on 14 March. At the ceremony, the officials provided the items to the camp officials as follows:

  • K10 million for 20 households at the rate of K500,000 per household supported by the Chin state government;
  • K2 million at the rate of K100,000 per household, K945,000 for 105 people at the rate of K9,000 per person for one month of rice and twenty boxes of family kit containing 17 types of commodities at the rate of one box per per household supported by Natural Disaster Management Department.

       The family members sheltering in the temporary IDP camps in Paletwa township are returning to their original residences under the arrangement of the state government and Tatmadaw. In this regard, local military personnel, Myanmar Police Force members, firefighters and departmental staff helped the IDPs move their household items and belongings to vehicles and boats that would transport them to their respective homes without taking charges, it is reported.
