The Tatmadaw Sea-going Mobile Hospital Vessel (Thanlwin) with the Tatmadaw Mobile Medical Team onboard including specialists, doctors and nurses from Tatmadaw and Ministry of Health arrived at Rakhine state to provide healthcare services to locals along the coastal areas in the state. From 6 to 12 March, they provided healthcare services to 5,265 local people in surrounding villages of Thandwe, Yanbyae, Munaung and Kyaukpyu townships of Rakhine state.
1,460 patients who need medical treatments, 314 patients who need surgical operations, 222 patients with obstetric/gynecologic diseases, 207 patients with pediatric diseases, 955 orthopedic diseases, 407 patients with ENT related diseases, 1,272 patients with eye diseases and 432 patients with dental and oral diseases were given medical treatment. Moreover, diagnoses and treatments were also provided to 33 patients who need to perform surgical operations, 12 patients who need to take X-ray scans, 414 ultrasound scanning patients, 323 cardiologic patients undergoing ECG procedures and 147 patients who need to receive laboratory tests.
Besides, the medics provided onboard healthcare services to 11 out of 40 patients who need to undergo eye surgery and gave foodstuffs and vision-support equipment to them. It is reported that the patients who need to be hospitalized, were sent to military and public hospitals.
