AAET Distinguished Lecture for Commemoration of World Engineering Day 2023 Held

     AAET Distinguished Lecture for the Commemoration of World Engineering Day 2023 marking World Engineering Day 2023 was held at the office of the Myanmar Engineer Council on 11 March with an online zoom meeting.

      At the ceremony, patron of Myanmar Engineering Council, Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than delivered an opening speech as follows:

  • The theme of World Engineering Day this year is “Engineering innovation for a more resilient world" and it is being held for the fourth time.
  • The AAET holds such a seminar to promote the innovations of engineers to become stronger in ASEAN and the world.
  • The construction of the world's highest Marawijaya Buddha image in Nay Pyi Taw will be seen as the creation of Myanmar engineers.
  • The engineers can not only build a more sustainable world through their innovation, but also create a better world.

       Next, AAET President Prof. Dr. Ewe Hong Tat remarked and AAET Vice-President, Myanmar Engineer Council Chairman Prof. Dr. Aung Kyaw Myat delivered a Distinguished Lecture about Seismicity Around the Bagan-NyaungU Area, Significant Ground Shakings on Historical Monuments, Development of Seismic Hazard and Vulnerability Assessment under the topic of Seismic Hazard and Vulnerability Assessment for the Bagan-NyaungU Area.

       The event was attended by international professors, experts from AAET, local engineers, architects and those who are interested in, it is reported.
