Status of 2023 Matriculation Exam in Progress

     The first day of the 2023 Matriculation Exam was held on 8 March. This year, the Ministry of Education opened five foreign exam centres and 858 local exam centres in 309 Townships, totalling 863 centres. In this regards;

  • A total of 179,843 students submitted application forms.
  • On 8 March, a total of 161,851 students (about 90 per cent) across the nation sat for a Myanmar subject exam on the first day.
  • On 9 March, a total of 161,681 students (about 89.90 per cent) across the nation sat for an English subject exam on the second day.
  • On 10 March, a total of 161,633 students (about 89.87 per cent) across the nation sat for a Maths subject exam on the third day.

     Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe, chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, Chief Ministers of respective regions and states, and officials encouraged students sitting the matriculation exam for 2022-2023 Academic year.

     Security personnel, health staff, fire-fighters and members of ward administration team took position inside and outside the schools and guarded the students to sit the exam peacefully and safely, it is reported.
