Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Thet Thet Khine received a delegation led by Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator, Head of UNOCHA (Myanmar) Office Mr. David Carden at the meeting hall of the ministry on 9 March.
Mr. David Carden discussed matters related to the entry visas for foreign staff from the UN and International Non-Governmental Organizations in Myanmar, provisions of humanitarian assistance and registration of organizations as well as cooperation matters related to the MOU agreement between UNOCHA and the Ministry.
The Union Minister also discussed matters related to endorsement for registration of organizations, endorsement by the Ministry for entry visas and travel under the MOU agreement, preparations to receive displaced persons, assistance being provided by ASEAN (AHA Centre), India and China for development in Rakhine State and the issue regarding the Humanitarian Response Plan 2023 released by UNOCHA, it is reported.
