Status of 2023 Matriculation Exam in Progress

        The first day of the 2023 Matriculation Exam was held on 8 March. This year, the Ministry of Education opened five foreign exam centres and 858 local exam centres in 309 Townships, totalling 863 centres. A total of 179,843 students submitted application forms, but only a total of 161,851 students (about 90 per cent) sat for a Myanmar subject exam on the first day.

       Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe, Chief Minister of Ayeyawady Region, the commander of North-West Command visited No (7) Basic Education High School, No (2) Basic Education High School, No (6) Basic Education High School and No (1) Basic Education High School in Pathein city to encourage students sitting the exam and inspected the status of exam in progress.

       Security personnel, health staff, fire-fighters and members of ward administration team took position inside and outside the schools and guarded the students to sit the exam peacefully and safely, it is reported.
