The Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, accompanied by entourage, Shan State Chief Minister, Commander of Eastern Command and officials, went to Kyauktalongyi of Pa-O Self-Administered Zone on 7 March to talk about regional development tasks.
First, the Chairman of the SAC Prime Minister and party visited the residence of U Aung Hkam Hti who is the Patron of Pa-O National Organization (PNO) in Kyauktalongyi, and asked about the health conditions of U Aung Hkam Hti and spoke words of encouragement. Then, the officials reported on undertakings for regional development, peace and stability of the region and requirements.
After hearing the reports, the Chairman of the SAC Prime Minister discussed as follows:
- It is required to prioritize manufacturing products which can benefit the region and local people. In arranging agriculture and livestock farms and industries, it is necessary to ensure the development of the socioeconomic life of all people in the region.
- Regarding the livestock breeding tasks, pigs, cows and chickens are to be successfully bred in systematic manner.
- The avocados planted in Pa-O region are of high quality so that it is necessary to enhance the cultivation of quality avocado plants in the region. Likewise, it is necessary to consider the production of value-added products from onion, potato and tea in the region.
- It is required to avoid doing easy tasks such as extraction of underground and aboveground natural resources but focus on the long-term beneficial tasks.
- It is necessary to encourage the operation of the highland farmlands system instead of the slash and burn system so as to conserve the forests of the region.
- The government and Tatmadaw are providing assistance for the development of the Pa-O region with more provision plans.
The Chairman of the SAC Prime Minister and party paid homage to Maha Wuntha Buddhagaya Pagoda on Bopanta Hillock in Kyauktalongyi, and offered flowers, water and oil lights to the pagoda. They then donated cash for all-round renovation of the pagoda through the pagoda board of trustees.
The Chairman of the SAC Prime Minister and party paid obeisance to the Buddha image at the upper terrace of the pagoda and left necessary instructions on renovation of the pagoda for its durability and magnificence.
