Tatmadaw Sea-going Mobile Hospital Vessel (Thanlwin) Continues to Provide Healthcare Services to Locals in Rakhine State

    The Tatmadaw Sea-going Mobile Hospital Vessel (Thanlwin) with the Tatmadaw Mobile Medical Team onboard including specialists, doctors and nurses from military and Ministry of Health provided healthcare services to 3,068 local people in surrounding villages of Gwa and Thandwe townships of Rakhine state from 2 to 5 March.

      740 patients who need medical treatments, 150 patients who need surgical operations, 133 patients with obstetric/gynecologic diseases, 158 patients with pediatric diseases, 692 orthopedic diseases, 287 patients with ENT related diseases, 710 patients with eye diseases and 198 patients with dental and oral diseases were given medical treatment. Moreover, diagnoses and treatments were also provided to 25 patients who need to perform surgical operations, 30 patients who need to take X-ray scans, 210 ultrasound scanning patients, 156 cardiologic patients undergoing ECG procedures and 105 patients who need to receive laboratory tests.

      Besides, the medics provided onboard healthcare services to 12 out of 36 patients who need to undergo eye surgery and gave foodstuffs and vision-support equipment to them. It is reported that patients, who need to be hospitalized, were sent to military and public hospitals.
