Announcement to Public over Findings on FOEIM Online Education System Run by NUG

The government-run newspapers publicized that if students' parents enroll their children in online schools organized and run by the terrorist organization under certain circumstances in which they cannot go against the social pressures, or they have no idea about the consequence, or they intentionally do it, they will lose their money in swindle and be taken legal actions under the counter-terrorism law. Accordingly, parents are notified to enroll their children only in Government-run schools and Government-accredited schools.

Announcement

NUG terrorist group has announced that their online-school called Free Online Education Institution Myanmar (FOEIM) collects 1,000/2,000/3000 Thai Baht respectively for primary, middle and high school students as an annual school enrolment fee, and adding that around 20,000 students have already been enrolled and there are 62 NUG-accredited online schools. However, the evidence show that they run only 3 schools. With the endorsement of the online schools, students are not entitled to go to Government universities and colleges and therefore, it is just the waste of time and money. Moreover, those, who enroll their children in online schools like FOEIM, organized and run by the terrorist organization, will face legal actions under the counter-terrorism law besides losing their money in swindle.

Parents need to know that FOEIM is an online school that abets and supports acts of terrorism. Additionally, the online school was found out to be with no strong international accreditation, unable to show its location, and lack of proper organizational structure and management. It was also found that the NUG had asked for one-third of the FOEIM school's income causing dissents between the school’s student admissions (office team) and the NUG. Consequently, a swindle broke out after failing to account for money they had spent leading to the leakage of list of enrolled students. Although FOEIM online school gave guarantees of the information security via its Facebook Page, Website and Telegram channel, the list of 500 enrolled students who trusted the online school came to leak out.

The Facebook page of NUG terrorist group did not take responsibility for the leak of the student list, and five swindlers working in teaching section and student admissions (office team) were identified, and measures are being taken to take legal action against them under the law.

Therefore, if students' parents enroll their children in online schools organized and run by the terrorist organization under certain circumstances in which they cannot go against the social pressures, or they have no idea about the consequence, or they intentionally do it, they will lose their money in swindle and be taken legal actions under the counter-terrorism law as well. Accordingly, parents are notified to enroll their children only in Government-run schools and Government-accredited schools.
