Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and Union Minister for International Cooperation U Ko Ko Hlaing virtually meet the heads of Myanmar Embassies, Permanent Representative Offices and Consulates-General, Charge d’affaires of embassies in foreign countries of the Asia zone, and Consul-General of Myanmar Consulate-General in LA on 15 February.
Union Minister U Than Swe said the following points at the meeting;
- The State Administration Council is undertaking State responsibilities under the 2008 Constitution, and it is also implementing the Five-Point Road Map and 12 Objectives. The country practises independent, active and non-aligned foreign policy.
- The government focuses on the end of internal armed conflicts for national solidarity and peace.
- The government is implementing two national tasks – the country’s prosperity and food security.
- The heads of embassies are responsible to share the accurate information of Myanmar with the governments of the countries where they are serving.
- They should protect the interests of Myanmar nationals living in respective foreign countries.
Then, Union Minister U Ko Ko Hlaing highlighted the local situation of Myanmar, current political affairs, geopolitical impact on Myanmar, and he said to the heads of Myanmar embassies to share activities and accurate information of the Government of Myanmar, fulfil their duties with royalty and competence, and build unity among staff and fulfil duties in unity for the State’s interests.
