Auspicious Ceremony to Convey 4th Part of Maravijaya Buddha Image on Top of Jewelled Throne Held

A holy and auspicious ceremony to convey the 4th part of Maravijaya Buddha Image on the top of the jewelled throne was held on 11 February at the Buddha Park.

Present at the ceremony were Sayadaws led by State Ovadacariya Sayadaw of Maha Thihanada Monastery in Tatkon, Sayadaw of Intha Ashay Monastery, Leway, Region Ovadacariya Sayadaw of Weigyi Pariyatti School, Pobbathiri Township, and Maravijaya Buddha Image Erection Ovadacariya Patron Sayadaw of Pali Tekkatho, Pyinmana, the main donor Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win, the council members, Union ministers, senior military officers and members of religious associations.

During the ceremony, following the lead of Sayadaws, the main donor Senior General and party took positions at designated places near the jewelled throne. They then sprinkled scented water on the large steel jewelled basket in which the 4th part of the Image was kept, and three areas of the steel tower crane that would convey the Image on the throne.

At the auspicious time, the Senior General pressed the button to convey the 4th part of the Image on the throne with auspicious machines. Then, the conveyance process of the 4th part of the Image on the throne was being undertaken on the agenda. Afterwards, they performed ritual gold and silver showers, marking the success of the ceremony.

The jewelled throne is 18 feet in height, 72 feet in length and 54 feet in width. The total weight of the 4th part of the Image is 500 tons and the 4th part of the Image was put onto the throne by using the steel tower crane. The Buddha Image combined with part 1, 2 and 3 weighs 1,700 tons. The task to convey the large section on the throne started at the auspicious time on 26 January and completed on 31 January.
