The State Administration Council has entrusted Martial Law power to the relevant commanders of regional military commands and the commander of regional operations command under Section 419 of the Constitution to exercise more effective undertakings for ensuring security, the rule of law and local peace and tranquillity in the following townships of Regions and States on 2 February;
- The SAC has entrusted Martial Law power to the commander of North-West Command to exercise undertakings in Indaw Township, Bamauk Township, Kawlin Township, Pinlebu Township. Myaung Township, Salingyi Township, Pale Township, Yinmabin Township, Khin U Township, Taze Township and Ye U Township of Sagaing Region as well as Tiddim Township, Tonzang Township, Falam Township, Kanpetlet Township, Matupi Township, Thantlang Township and Haka Township of Chin State, issuing Order No (1/2023).
- The SAC has entrusted Martial Law power to the commander of North-West Command to exercise undertakings in Gangaw Township, Htilin Township, Saw Township, Pauk Township and Myaing Township of Magway Region, issuing Order No (2/2023).
- The SAC has entrusted Martial Law power to the commander of Southern Command to exercise undertakings in Htantabin Township, Okpo Township, Nattalin Township, Paungde Township and Paukkhaung Township of Bago Region, issuing Order No (3/2023).
- The SAC has entrusted Martial Law power to the commander of South-East Command to exercise undertakings in Ye Township of Mon State and Kya-in-Seikkyi and Kawkareik townships of Kayin State, issuing Order No (4/2023).
- The SAC has entrusted Martial Law power to the commander of Coastal Region Command to exercise undertakings in Taninthayi and Palaw townships of Taninthayi Region, issuing Order No (5/2023).
- The SAC has entrusted Martial Law power to the commander of Regional Operations Command (Loikaw) to exercise undertakings in Demawhso Township, Pruhso Township, Shadaw Township and Bawlakhe Township of Kayah State, issuing Order No (6/2023).
It is stated that the commander of North-West Command, the commander of Southern Command, the commander of South-East Command, the commander of Coastal Region Command, and the commander of Regional Operations Command (Loikaw) themselves can exercise Martial Law power as well as transfer the power to military region commanders depending on the timely changing of situations.
