The Riverine Naval Hospital Ship UMS Shwe Puzun and UMS Sagu with the Tatmadaw Mobile Medical Teams onboard including military specialists, doctors and nurses provided healthcare services to local people from villages in delta area along the Ayeyarwady River as follows:
- On 18 and 19 January, the Tatmadaw Mobile Medical Team provided healthcare services to 1,327 people in Sarmalauk village of Nyaungdon township;
- On 21 and 22 January, the Tatmadaw Mobile Medical Team provided healthcare services to 4,279 people in Ma Yan Chaung village and Saparo village of Wakema township;
- On 24 January, the Tatmadaw Mobile Medical Team provided healthcare services to 1,515 people in Ka-na-soe-kune village and surrounding villages.
7,121 local patients in total including 2,601 patients who need medical treatments, 543 patients who need surgical operations, 376 patients with obstetric/gynecologic diseases, 390 patients with pediatric diseases, 1,052 patients with orthopedic diseases, 536 patients with ENT related diseases and 994 patients with optical diseases were given necessary medical treatments. 188 patient who need general operation and 89 eye patients were provided necessary surgical operations. Moreover, diagnoses and treatments were also provided to 173 patients who need to take X-ray scans, 613 patients who need to receive laboratory tests, 483 patients who need to take television X-ray scans and 713 cardiologic patients undergoing ECG procedures.
The patients who need to take medical treatment were sent to military hospitals in Yangon and local military battalion in Pathein township and the officials encouraged them and coordinated with their necessary requirements, it is reported.
