On 11 January, ‘Swe La Yaung’ passenger bus with 10 male passengers and five female passengers onboard along with a driver and a conductor was stopped and robbed of their belongings by KKO (splinter group) and PDF terrorists on Kawkareik-Myawaddy Asia Highway. The KKO (splinter group) and PDF terrorists stopped the passenger bus on the Highway around 5,500 meters to the northeast of Tantan Ku village and robbed the passengers of 18 mobile phones and Kyats 5,000,000. After that the armed terrorists also blew up an IED on the Asia Highway so as to disrupt and stop the cars running on it.
The PDF terrorists who are subordinates of NUG/CRPH are doing banditry acts such as collecting extortion money from people and robbing passenger vehicles at gunpoint so that they can continue their acts of violence and robberies. Therefore, the entire population is disgusted by them.
The mine blast shattered a glass of a window on the left side of the bus and left a hole with four-foot-width and one-foot-depth on the highway although no passenger, driver and conductor were harm. It is reported that security force members continue necessary measures around the area of incident.
