As the PDF terrorists made destructive acts on 230 kV 100 MVA Myawady Primary Substation distributing power to Myawady, Kawkareik, Kyar Inn Seik Gyi and Kyondoe townships, and its surrounding villages in Kayin State at 1:30 am of 16 December, two 50 MVA Transformers, one 20 MVA Shut Reactor, two Gas Circuit Breakers, two Lightning Arresters, two Potential Transformers, power cables, power station control room and power generation room were damaged and power outage also occurred in those areas.
In this regard, 56,363 locals in Myawady, Kawkareik, Kyain Seikgyi and Kyondoe townships, and its surrounding villages faced the power cut, and Myanmar-Thai border trade gate and zone also faced the power outage so that the trade flow has been delayed. Therefore, efforts are being made to repair the damaged substation as quickly as possible.
The NUG’s affiliate PDF terrorists made terrorist attacks with an intention to damage and destroy the State’s infrastructures that are fulfiling the public needs, and also attacked on power stations, substations, electricity offices, and staff housings for 210 times. But, the Ministry of Electric Power are making efforts to restore electric power that are the requirements of the public in collaboration with security force members of relevant areas.
