The Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, accompanied by Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, and the commander of Central Command, gave words of comfort to officers, other ranks and families receiving medical treatments at the local military hospital in Pyin Oo Lwin Station of Mandalay Region on 12 December.
The Vice-Senior General and party met officers and other ranks warded at the hospital; asked them individually about suffering from diseases and the progress of medical treatment; and presented foodstuffs and aid to them. At the obstetric and maternity ward, the wife of the Vice-Senior General and party comforted the pregnant women and presented aid to them.
Afterwards, the Vice-Senior General and party presented cash awards for health staff serving at the hospital. The Vice-Senior General and party inspected the construction of the radiation and cancer treatment ward in the compound of the hospital, it is reported.
