Missile Frigate UMS Kyan Sittha Attends International Fleet Review 2022

The delegation led by Rear Admiral Naing Min Kyaw from Myanmar Navy, together with missile frigate UMS Kyan Sittha attended the International Fleet Review-2022 (IFR-2022) which was convened from 5 to 9 December 2022 at the Inani beach in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, and arrived back to Yangon on 12 December.

The Prime Minister of Bangladesh attended the ceremony, and senior naval officers from 27 countries as well as naval vessels from navies of international, regional and neighbouring countries participated in it.

Officers and other ranks from Myanmar Navy took documentary photos with international naval personnel; participated in military parade as well as in fleet review along with naval vessels from other participants; attended international maritime seminar; took part in traditional cultural performance; served with traditional food, and attended dinner hosted by the Chief of Naval Staff of Bangladesh.

This participation of Myanmar Navy in IFR-2022 could show its naval capabilities among other navies of international, regional and neighbouring countries. The missile frigate UMS Kyan Sittha, which was indigenously designed and built by engineers from Myanmar Navy, could also set sail 1,456 nautical miles and make diplomatic relations with others navies among participants.
