COVID-19 Prevention, Control, and Treatment Activities Continue in Respective Regions and States

COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities such as opening quarantine centres and vaccinating people against COVID-19 continue in respective regions and states.

· The vaccination processes continue in respective regions and states as per the priority programme, and a total of 1,838 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 as third dose, a total of 187,345 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 as second dose and 20,447 people as first dose on 6 January.

· A total of 3,039 students aged 12 years and above from Basic Education Middle and High schools in respective regions and states have been vaccinated against COVID-19 as second dose and 1,165 students as first dose on 6 January. A total of 1,508,152 students have been vaccinated against COVID-19 till 6 January 2022. 

The Ministry of Health is conducting COVID-19 tests regularly, 192 new cases of COVID-19 were found from testing a total of 11,012 samples and the infected rates are 1.74 percent on 6 January. Until 6 January 2022, a total of 531,624 cases were found from testing a total of 6,098,644 samples and death toll reached 19,284.
