At the invitation of H.E. Mr. Vyacheslav Lebedev, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation and H.E. Mr. Victor Momotov, President of the Council of Judges of the Russian Federation, the Myanmar delegation led by Union Chief Justice U Htun Htun Oo attended the 10th All-Russia Congress of Judges, which was held from 29 November to 1 December in Moscow, Russian Federation.
The President of the Russian Federation H.E. Mr. Vladimir Putin delivered a speech at the congress. The Union Chief Justice attended the Congress together with Chief Justices, Presidents, Justices and Secretary General of the Committee from the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Cuba, the Republic of India, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Eurasian Economic Union, and the Republic of Abkhazia.
During the Congress, the affairs including an assessment of current state of the Russia’s court system, determination on its development prospects and formulation of the proposals of the judiciary regarding further improvement of the justice in Russia were performed. Those from the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation and the Supreme Court of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar exchanged views on relevant experience and opinion on judicial and legal matters.
