The ceremony to mark Diamond Jubilee Myanmar Military Ordnance Corps Day was held in Nay Pyi Taw on 1 December. The Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win attended the ceremony. Firstly, Quartermaster General Lt-Gen Kyaw Swar Lin of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), Director of the Directorate of Ordnance Maj-Gen Win Lwin and Nay Pyi Taw Command Commander Maj-Gen Zaw Hein cut the ribbon to open the ceremony.
Then, the Vice-Chairman of the SAC Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) unveiled the signboard of the 75th Anniversary of Myanmar Military Ordnance Corps Day and posed for documentary photos together with attendees. The Vice-Chairman of the SAC Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) said as follows:
- Today is the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of Military Military Ordnance Corps Day, and it has been playing a role as a part of the Tatmadaw since its establishment.
- 1 December 1947 when the Burma Army Ordnance Depot (BAOD) was formed and the day was set as “Myanmar Military Ordnance Corps Day”.
- Although the corps with high capability of arms and logistics have been maintaining their successes till today, the ordnance corps has been dutifully serving its assignments till today with the motto: “to issue correct materials, correct position, corre time and correct quality”.
- Members of the ordnance corps were sent to pursue relevant studies in order to keep abreast of international countries in their professions. Moreover, learned subjects and their accumulated knowledge are being shared with officers and other ranks from the ordnance corps and regiments and units from the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) in the training.
- Tatmadaw factories under the ordnance corps fully meet the demand of the whole Tatmadaw with the high-quality arms and ammunition produced from local factories of the Tatmadaw without relying on foreign-made military equipment.
- Moreover, surplus production capacity is being operated for manufacturing marketable personal goods at the reasonable prices for the people.
- The new generation of the ordnance corps are urged to serve dutifully their assigned duties in line with the adopted slogans and mottos in the future.
Afterwards, the Vice-Chairman of the SAC Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) cordially greeted the retired senior officers of the Ordnance Corps, and viewed round the exhibition to mark the Diamond Jubilee Myanmar Military Ordnance Corps Day with the attendees.
Also present at the Diamond Jubilee Myanmar Military Ordnance Corps Day Ceremony together with the Vice-Chairman of the SAC Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) were the SAC Secretary, SAC members, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the Nay Pyi Taw Command Commander, retired senior officers of the corps and guests.
