The opening ceremonies of the Government Technical Institute (Dawei), Government Technical Institute (Taungoo), and Government Technical Institute (Thanlyin) under the Department of Technical and Vocational Education and Training, Ministry of Science and Technology were held at the same time on 30 November.
Opening the Government Technical Institutes aimed to nurture educated youths in technical field which are necessary for building the nation, and arrangements were made to open more institutes under the guidance of the government. It can support the greater learning opportunities for oustanding students in various areas of the country, nuture technical and knowledge experts, and contribute to the regional development and socioeconomic development of the people.
The Union Minister for Science and Tehnology, Yangon Region Chief Minister, Taninthayi Region Chief Minister, regional government ministers, teachers, technical entrepreneurs, and trainees attended the respective ceremonies.
