Matters Discussed on Selection of Myanmar University Teachers to be Prioritized in Russian Scholarship 2023 Programme

Union Minister for Education Dr Nyunt Pe met the delegation of higher education from universities of the Russian Federation at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Education in Nay Pyi Taw on 24 November.

At the meeting:

• They friendly discussed issues on the implementation of the promoting educational cooperation between the two countries during the Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister’s visit to Russia, signing of an agreement on the quality of education and recognition of bachelor degrees between the two countries, signing of MoU on education cooperation between  two universities, exchange of Myanmar language teachers and Russian language teachers, selection of Myanmar university teachers to be prioritized over the Russian Scholarship 2023 programme and enhancement of qualification of the teachers and students from Naypyitaw State Academy.
• Myanmar side gave the lists of scholarship in prioritized study fields and courses that would like to be achieved by Universities from Myanmar to the Russian delegation.

The meeting was attended by deputy ministers, the permanent secretary, the directors-general from Myanmar and senior officials from the universities of the Russian Federation, pro-rectors and responsible personnel of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund and officials of the Russia-Myanmar Friendship and Cooperation Association, it is reported.

• At the meeting between Union Minister for Education and the delegation of higher education from universities of the Russian Federation, they friendly discussed issues on signing of an agreement on the quality of education and recognition of bachelor degrees between the two countries, exchange of Myanmar language teachers and Russian language teachers, priority of selection on Myanmar university teachers who apply for the Russian Scholarship 2023 programme.
