The ceremony to mark Diamond Jubilee Supply and Transport Corps Day was held at Hsinphyushin Hall of the Nay Pyi Taw Interrogation and Accommodation Centre on 7 November. The Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win attended the ceremony and posed a documentary photo with attendees. During the ceremony, the Vice-Chairman of the SAC Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win made a remark as follows:
- In order to increase the administrative support matters needed for the Tatmadaw, the “Directorate of Supply and Transport” was set up in Yangon on 7 November 1947 and that day is set as the “supply and transport corps day”.
- The supply and transport corps is serving the duties of “supplying and transporting rations and fuel, farming pack animals and medical treatments”.
- In reviewing the history of the supply and transport corps, it was found that members of the corps contributed to the public welfare activities.
- During the 75 years of the supply and transport corps, a total of 13 Tatmadaw members who gallantly served for the nation were awarded Sithu, Zarni and Zeyakyawhtin titles while officers and other ranks who gallantly served for the Tatmadaw were awarded one Thiha Thura title, three Thura titles, nine gallantry medals, 20 gallantry certificates of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and 20 honorary certificates of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.
- For those who served well the assigned duties with good discipline, 1,167 members were presented gold medals, and 2,683, diamond jubilee medals.
- Again, 3,932 officers and other ranks were awarded medals for outstanding management, outstanding social affairs and good citizenships. They are all recognized and recorded for their dutiful achievements.
- The Vice-Senior General wished for officers and other ranks of the corps to be able to continue the successful realization of the objectives of the State and the Tatmadaw in future and for the crops to continue to exist from the diamond jubilee to many more years to come.
Then, the Vice-Chairman of the SAC Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) cordially greeted the retired senior officers of the supply and transport corps and viewed round the exhibition to mark the diamond jubilee supply and transport corps day together with the attendees.
The ceremony to mark Diamond Jubilee Supply and Transport Corps Day was attended by the Vice-Chairman of the SAC Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) together with the SAC Secretary, the SAC members, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the Nay Pyi Taw Command commander, retired senior officers of the corps, members of the corps and invited guests.
