Terrorists Attack District Education Office in Shwe Bo Township and Security Forces on Duty in Thantlang Township, Using Small Arms and Support Weapons

Terrorists launched attacks on a District Education Office and security forces on duty in some townships on 3 January, using small arms and support weapons. The      attacks are as follows:

· Two male terrorists riding motorbike came and threw two homemade grenades into the compound of the District Education Office and the schoolyard of No (2) Basic Education High School   located in Shwe Bo township of Sagaing region. The terrorists, then, opened fire at the security forces on duty in the school compound and they drove away. In the incident, the nine glass windows at the back of the building of the District Education Office were smashed.

· Some 25 CDF terrorist members opened fire at the security forces on patrol for ensuring the peace and tranquility in Thantlang Township of Chin state. The security forces returned fire at the       terrorists leaving one terrorist dead in the incident and seized his dead body along with one BA-63 rifle and six bullet rounds.

· Terrorists set fire to the residential    houses in ward (1) while they were making a retreat from there, leaving 13  houses burned.

CDF terrorist groups are ravaging schools, education offices and government buildings in some townships, and continuously committing terrorist acts on the people living peacefully and arson attacks, particularly on the civilians’ houses. People are denouncing their acts of violence and willing the international community to oppose the terrorists’ acts.

It is reported that the security forces members joining hands with local military columns are taking further necessary measures in line with the security processes to search and arrest the terrorists who attacked the District Education Office and the security forces members.
